Allegis Corp.‘s expansion plans in Washington County are moving from concept to construction.
The Minneapolis-based hardware manufacturer has received approval to build a 90,000-square-foot production, warehouse and office facility as part of Merchant Village, a 130-acre business park being developed in Slinger by Three Leaf Partners.
The project has secured the go-ahead from village officials on its site and architectural plans.
Groundbreaking on the facility is expected in April, according to a press release from broker Founders 3 Real Estate Services.
The new facility will consolidate Allegis’ production, warehousing and administrative operations into a single building along Interstate 41. Plans call for parking along the northwest portion of the parcel and a loading dock area on the southeast side of the structure, Founders 3 said.
The approval marks the next step in Allegis’ previously announced move into Wisconsin.

In November, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced a $165,000 Transportation Economic Assistance grant to support infrastructure improvements tied to the company’s relocation of part of its operations from Illinois to Slinger.
According to the state, the project is expected to support 33 new jobs and help establish infrastructure for future commercial and industrial development in the area.

Already complete at Three Leaf’s Merchant Village is a Fireside Market convenience store, which opened last year.
According to a village report presented in January, all public infrastructure has been installed at the park, and “several additional businesses” are currently in discussions to build there.
